Lâl Yılmaz
Finding solidarity and intimacy in her own tribes, and finding sincerity in her solitude, Lâl aspires to break down the boundary of artist and viewer by illustrating vulnerable states of self that are relatable to shared human experiences. Revolving around the natural world, spirituality, rituals and an inquisitive exploration of her own emotional states; the subjects of her paintings are fluid and sprouting within themselves and growing into each other, tangling and forming ambiguous in between states of transformation.
‘Incubating an Enigma’ 2023
Oil on canvas, 120x160cm
Fluidity and organic nature reminds of the female anatomy, evoking a sense of romance and appreciation of the human body. Tenderness coincides with curiosity and sentimentality, patterning a narrative that is reflective of an observant quality of the exterior and interior.
